St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Topeka, KS, hosted its fifth annual Worship Conference to provide continuing education and conversation for pastors, church musicians, and congregation members interested in the song and worship of the Church.
The keynote speaker for this year’s conference was Rev. Dr. Christopher Boyd Brown from Boston University School of Theology, where he serves as the Associate Professor of Church History. He is the author of Singing the Gospel: Lutheran Hymns and the Success of the Reformation and serves with Rev. Dr. Benjamin T.D. Mayes as general editor of the American Edition of Luther's Works (Concordia Publishing House). He holds degrees in History & Literature (A.B.) and History (A.M., Ph.D.) from Harvard, as well as an M.Div. from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
