Worship Conference
St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Topeka, KS, is hosting its ninth annual Worship Conference to provide continuing education and conversation for pastors, church musicians, and congregation members interested in the song and worship of the Church.
The keynote speaker for this year’s conference is Rev. Dr. Geoffrey Boyle, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministry and Missions at Concordia Theological Seminary and the Director of Field Education. He received his B.A. at the University of Michigan (2005), M.Div. at CTSFW (2009), and Ph.D. through Wycliffe and St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto (2019). His thesis is entitled, “The Real Presence of Christ in Scripture: A Sacramental Approach to the Old Testament.” Prior to serving at the seminary, he was senior pastor at Grace Lutheran Church and Trinity Lutheran Church in Wichita, KS from 2010, where he served until joining CTSFW in 2022. With a facility for the Spanish language, he also teaches occasionally for Seminario Concordia El Reformador – República Dominicana.

3:00 – 4:00 p.m. – Office of Vespers, with choral music incorporated by conference choir

Between our keynote presentations and breakaways, all sessions are designed to pique the interest of church musicians, pastors, and lay people alike.
